A cherished tradition is revived: After a three-year break, the tourist season will be officially rung in again this year. TI manager Christina Richard and her team have come up with an attractive supporting programme - which is certainly also worth seeing for many locals.
On Saturday, 4 April, the Franconian Wine Queen, the Beer Queen, the court, the Kolping Music Corps and the Franconian Folk Dance Group have already announced their attendance. Kitzingen winegrowers are responsible for catering for visitors from near and far. The event starts at 10.30 am on the market square. The Kolping Music Corps plays at the beginning before the official welcoming words are spoken and the wine sovereigns are introduced. They will - in keeping with the Easter weekend - hand out a few Easter surprises. The Franconian folk dance group will then delight the audience with their dances. Kitzingen winegrowers will be serving their wine specialities during the event and the catering outlets on the market square will have the right offerings to satisfy hunger and thirst.
Christina Richard is looking forward to a successful start and many highlights in the coming season: the town festival with the opening of the "Wild Times Exhibition" - for which the TI staff have developed a new guided tour of the town - the Promenade Wine Festival at the end of June and, of course, the Etwashäuser Kirchweih. The tourist information centre's new guest magazine will be published, a new children's quiz has been launched and last year's 20,000 or so consultations may well be exceeded. "We are looking forward to the 2026 tourism season," says Christina Richard. "And to many curious guests on 4 April."
