The choice was not easy. The staff at the tourist information centre presented five wines. The jury had to choose the 2026 tour guide wine in the blind tasting. There was praise for all the wines, with a Silvaner QbA from the Geißendörfer winery in Buchbrunn ultimately winning.
For eight years now, the tourist information centre has been offering a local wine with special guided tours. The bottles are labelled by local artists. This year it is by Jennifer Kaiser and shows the town's riverside promenade. The trained optician, who has lived in Kitzingen for eleven years, has put a lot of time and effort into the motif. She first sketched the panorama and the wine glass in the foreground in pencil and then put the motifs together on the PC. The mother of two spent around 70 hours on her artwork - and it was worth it. "We are looking forward to a new, eye-catching label for our tour guide wine," said TI manager Christina Richard at the presentation and wine tasting on 11 March.
When choosing the guest guide wine, a changing jury awards marks for quality characteristics such as aroma, varietal purity, intensity, typical character and, of course, flavour. With the Geißendörfer winery, a winegrower from Buchbrunn won for the third time. Around 300 Bocksbeutel will be served or sold to tourists and locals alike with Buchbrunn wine and the imperial label over the course of the 2026 tourism year.
