The estate is part of the federal and state urban development programme "Social Cohesion". With this programme, the federal and state governments support cities and municipalities in developing vibrant and strong neighbourhoods. The aim is to promote coexistence in the neighbourhoods, improve the living environment and strengthen social services. The aim is to create places in which all people - regardless of age, origin or income - feel comfortable and enjoy living.
My neighbourhood - Our Kitzingen
Current actions
Integrated action plan
Since 2009, the Kitzingen-Siedlung district has been part of the federal and state urban development programme "Socially Integrative City". Since 2020, the programme has been called Social Cohesion.
The aim of the programme is to improve the quality of life and living conditions for residents. The integrated action plan "Meine Siedlung - Unser Kitzingen" (IHK) forms the guideline for the development of the neighbourhood. The action plan was drawn up in 2008 with the help of local residents.
The upgrading process was shaped jointly by the neighbourhood management and citizens through open dialogue, discussions, joint activities and projects. In 2017, the IHK was modernised in collaboration with the planning office "Planwerk". The new development focus is on family, sport and leisure.

Actors
The implementation of the federal and state urban development programme "Social Cohesion" in the Kitzingen Siedlung district depends on the commitment of all those involved. The most important stakeholders are the citizens of the Siedlung neighbourhood, who are involved in a regular citizens' circle and also in various working groups. The Socially Integrative City working group (WG) exists as a "steering group" at administrative and political level, in which projects and measures are discussed and prepared for decision by the city council. The Socially Integrative City working group is interdisciplinary and cross-party.
Citizens' working group settlement
The citizens' working group meets once a month, where committed citizens and representatives of schools, kindergartens, clubs and churches exchange ideas. They have the opportunity to get personally involved in the citizens' working group with ideas for actions and projects and to express their opinions, thereby enhancing their living space in the long term. In addition, citizens are informed about upcoming projects and changes in social cohesion.
Participating organisations and associations
Cooperation partners are needed to plan and implement projects. In the Kitzingen-Siedlung district, various institutions and associations are involved in the Social Programme process. These include schools, kindergartens, clubs and parishes.
The association "Unsere Siedlung - Kultur- und Bürgerverein e.V." was founded as part of the neighbourhood management. Interested citizens are welcome to contact the neighbourhood office.
Social City Working Group
The "Socially Integrative City Working Group" is the steering group for the implementation of the Socially Integrative City programme and now Social Cohesion in Kitzingen-Siedlung. It consists of one councillor from each political group and a deputy from each, the municipal youth welfare department and the building authority, Kitzinger Bau GmbH, representatives of the government of Lower Franconia and the neighbourhood management. The committee meets monthly to coordinate projects and procedures.
Stakeholders in the city administration
Within the city administration, several departments are responsible for coordinating and implementing the projects of the Social Cohesion Programme. These include the mayor's office for coordinating procedures, the building department for all matters relating to construction measures, the main office for all bureaucratic matters, the municipal youth welfare department and family work in the area of children, young people and social affairs and the treasury department for the area of financing and subsidies.
