Description of the
The framework governing the use of a municipal library may be set out in one or more sets of regulations (e.g. user regulations, fee regulations). House rules and terms of use may be issued to provide information on the key provisions of the regulations and to set out the conditions of use required by the library.
Terms of use may, for example, contain provisions covering the following areas:
- Types and purposes of use
- User group
- Registration
- Loan periods and returning items
- Restrictions on borrowing
- Pre-orders
- Behaviour in the library
- Users’ duty of care and liability for damages
