Description of the
The tax clearance certificate (UBB) is a temporary statement confirming that the applicant, whether an individual or a company, currently has no outstanding tax liabilities. Where confirmation is required that there are no arrears in local taxes owed to a city, market town or municipality, the relevant local authority is responsible for issuing the certificate of compliance.
It is required for various purposes, in particular for taking part in public tenders and obtaining licences under commercial law (Sections 30 et seq. of the Trade Regulation Act), e.g. for:
- the granting of a licence for a pub serving food and drink
- the granting of a licence for an amusement arcade
- the granting of a licence to operate a taxi business
- the granting of a licence for a security business
- the issue of a itinerant trader’s licence
