Description of the
The award of honorary citizenship by the municipal council is the highest honour the municipality can bestow.
Former mayors can be awarded the honorary title of "former mayor" or "former mayor".
Other options for honouring deserving citizens include: gifts of honour, medals of honour, rings of honour and similar.
However, every citizen can also suggest that the municipality honour deserving citizens themselves (merits and time spent with the municipality must be presented). Those who nominate themselves cannot be considered.
Prerequisites
In order to be awarded honorary citizenship, the person to be honoured must have rendered special services to the municipality itself. This can be merits of a material or non-material nature. The requirements for other honours by the municipality are not generally defined; they can be regulated in a statute.
