- Planning and development of new construction and residential areas

- Support for schools, daycare centres, clubs and social institutions
- Promotion of culture, sport and voluntary work
- Protecting our environment and sustainable urban development
- Preparation and control of the municipal budget
How does the city council work?
The town council is elected every six years by the residents of Kitzingen. Its members serve the town and its residents on a voluntary basis.
Together with the Lord Mayor, they discuss and decide on the most important issues in our city in public meetings.
Committees
Various committees have been set up to prepare these decisions, such as those for planning and the environment, finance, culture, human resources and audit. The committees are chaired by the Lord Mayor.
Advisory boards
Advisory boards are exclusively advisory bodies that make recommendations to the city council regarding their area of responsibility. The members of these advisory boards are city council members, citizens and representatives of local associations, organisations and institutions.
Presentations
The City Council has established specific departments to deal with certain issues that are important for the city’s development and the lives of its residents, and has appointed various councillors to head these departments. The councillors are involved in preparing decisions, represent the city externally in their respective areas of responsibility, and also act as the point of contact for their department.
