Bathing, entering and travelling on ice; issuing regulations

In order to prevent danger to life or health, local authorities may issue regulations prohibiting swimming in certain areas and walking or driving on frozen bodies of water. You can find out from the relevant local authority which areas are subject to such a ban on swimming, walking or driving.

In addition, local authorities and the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration may issue general regulations on behaviour in public bathing areas and on safety precautions in bathing establishments in order to maintain public decency or prevent danger to life or health.
