“Anyone can get involved, anyone can take part.” This is the motto of this year’s campaign by the “Together for Democracy” alliance. During the St Martin’s Market (Sunday, 8 November, 1 pm to 6 pm) and the Christmas Market (11 to 13 December), peace stars will be made in the Kitzingen Town Hall. Materials will be provided on these days. The theme is: “What does peace mean to you?” Organiser Astrid Glos is hoping for a large turnout. It would, of course, be wonderful if care homes, clubs or associations took part – much like they did with the “Knitting for Democracy” initiative. Stars can, of course, also be “purchased”. The proceeds will go towards supporting a charitable organisation. Depending on the level of participation and the number of stars, an exhibition in Kitzing’s two places of worship is a possibility.
