The regeneration area encompasses the entire Old Town as well as the neighbourhood around Kaltensondheimer Straße and Güterhallstraße. The Old Town area is bounded by the Hindenburgring Süd transport corridor to the south and the Nordtangente to the west and north. To the east, the River Main forms a natural boundary for the regeneration area, although the Alte Mainbrücke is included due to its importance for traffic. In the south-east, the regeneration area extends beyond the Hindenburgring Süd to include the neighbourhood around Kaltensondheimer Straße and Güterhallstraße.
