Informal planning

Informal planning

Informal planning helps to shape the future of our city in a targeted manner. These include concepts such as the integrated urban development concept (ISEK), the transport development plan and the retail concept. They show how our city should develop in the coming years - for example in the areas of housing, transport, shopping and quality of life.

Even if they are not legally binding plans, they form an important basis for decisions in politics and administration and ensure that urban development is orientated towards common goals.

Integrated urban development concept (ISEK)

The "red thread" of urban development is the Kitzingen Integrated Urban Development Concept (1.7 MB), which was adopted in 2006. Following the withdrawal of the US Army in 2006 and the areas in the urban area thus freed up for subsequent use, the development objective "from garrison to innovation location" was issued.

Transport development plan

At a special meeting on 10 October 2013, the town council approved the transport development plan for the town of Kitzingen, drawn up by the urban and transport planning office BSV Dr. Bayer from Aachen.

Dr Baier's detailed presentation of the results and the future recommendations for action and guidelines for transport development in Kitzingen were approved by a large majority of the city council at the meeting.

Retail trade in Kitzingen

In June 2012, the town council adopted a concept for the management of retail and local supply. The retail development concept for the city of Kitzingen contains recommendations and implementation tools for municipal building permit practice and local urban land-use planning. The concept was updated in 2023.

Framework plan for the Etwashausen district

At its meeting on 16 May 2013, the Kitzingen City Council approved the framework plan for the Etwashausen district by a majority vote. The framework plan is intended to highlight the development potential, make it transparent and provide a direction for municipal action.
