It has long since established itself as a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike: The Stadtschoppen on the Etwashäuser Mainufer is well attended from spring to autumn. The winter break lasts far too long for the regulars. Now the wait will soon be over: on Thursday, 23 April, it starts again.
A good glass of Franconian wine, the sunshine on the Main, the view of the picturesque Kitzingen city skyline and live music on Sundays: there are many good reasons to pay a visit to the Stadtschoppen. "Once again this year, we can look forward to selected wines from local and regional winegrowers," says Frank Gimperlein, Chairman of the town marketing association. There is something for every taste - and the winegrowers themselves will be on hand to present their products and philosophy in person. "The informal exchange and the special atmosphere are certainly the great trump cards of our Stadtschoppen," says Gimperlein and has another tip for all visitors: before the Stadtschoppen, it is worth making a detour to the historic old town with its owner-managed shops and specialist staff who know their trade and are happy to provide detailed and intensive advice. Whether fashion, delicatessen, decoration or gift items: Anyone looking for something special will find it in the city centre. "Just stroll in, browse and be surprised," advises Gimperlein. "And then stroll across the Old Main Bridge to round off the evening at the Stadtschoppen."
