Visitors from China

International visitors in Kitzingen

Professor Dr Dr Eric Hilgendorf was overwhelmed by the warm welcome he received. Accompanied by a Chinese delegation, he recently visited Kitzingen at the invitation of Mayor Dr Enis Tiz. Mayor Walter Vierrether welcomed the approximately 20 members of the ChineseGerman Criminal Law Teachers’ Association, together with three wine princesses and the Gardener’s Queen Annika, in the historic wedding hall and outlined the key milestones in Kitzingen’s history, which were explored in greater depth during a guided tour of the town led by Margareta Wollschläger from the Tourist Information Centre. The visit to Kitzingen drew to a close with a drinks reception and a dinner together. Thanks to the network established by Mayor Dr Enis Tiz, further visits by international guests are highly likely. As a PhD student, he had co-ordinated the exchange programme run by the Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Legal Theory, Information Law and Legal Informatics in Würzburg with international experts from China, India, South Korea, the USA and other countries, and had accompanied the guests. Until now, the supporting programme had focused on Würzburg. “But Kitzingen also has a lot to offer,” said the mayor, to the nods of agreement and friendly applause from the audience.

Information: The Sino-German Association of Criminal Law Lecturers (CDSV) was founded in 2010. Its aim is to strengthen ties between the German and Chinese criminal law academic communities. Mutual lectures, joint conferences and the exchange of academics serve to build a strong and harmonious cooperation between the criminal law communities of both countries.
